Toro Rosso

The Scuderia Toro Rosso has been racing in the Formula One World Championship since 2006. The team was created with the objective of training and launching potential future champions standing out from the others in the Red Bull Junior Driver Programme. Today, our two young and talented drivers Carlos Sainz and Danii Kvyat still fully embody this spirit and pursue the same objective. When the team was founded, for some time it was a satellite of the Red Bull Racing Team and used to race with a car mainly designed by Red Bull Technology. However, since 2010 Scuderia Toro Rosso has been operating as a totally independent team, by designing and making the car in the factory of Faenza. This required a structure expansion programme, both in the Romagna area and England. The activities in Italy are sided by those carried out in the wind tunnel in Bicester, Great Britain. The Team Principal Franz Tost has been at the helm since 2005, whereas James Key is the Technical Director. Currently the team can boast a victory and a pole position, both conquered by Sebastian Vettel, the author of a fabulous result obtained on his home racetrack, during the Italian Grand Prix in Monza in 2008. Since their debut until now, Scuderia Toro Rosso have been improving year after year to become a fully-fledged contender of the first half-grid positions. The objective is still the same: be in the points at every race and move up towards the highest positions in the World Championship.
